|Mrs. Joanna Kletter
We are excited to welcome back your children on Thursday, September 1. It is a full day of school beginning with the first bell at 8:05AM. At the end of the day, a bell rings at 3:02PM for grades 1 and 2 to begin dismissal and 3:05PM for students in grades 3-6. Please read the document, Important Information, to answer your questions about School #4 and to help you prepare your child for the first day of school. It is important you save this document for reference throughout the school year.
This year, our school theme is CELEBRATE! We are celebrating our 20th Anniversary as an elementary school. At different points in the history of our school, it was home to Buildings & Grounds, the Department of Community Activities, and a Pre-K/Early Childhood Center; however, in 1996, the doors re-opened as an elementary school
As we move through this school year, we will also focus on the concept of Mindset. We will celebrate process, effort, and progress because it is the work we do that leads to success. Success cannot be left to chance. The mindset that we can each grow and learn with every experience is integral to that success. Please join me for a parent book talk on the research of Carol S. Dweck, Ph.D. later this year (information to follow).
For now, the most important focus is enjoying the days you have together as a family. Get outside, snuggle with a book, and talk about everything you hope to learn together in the year ahead. Remember the name and room number for your child’s teacher was listed on his/her report card at the end of June. If you have been unable to access your child’s report card, please email email@example.com.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you on Thursday, September 1, at 8:05AM. New students to the school as well as our first grade families are welcomed to join a tour starting in the lobby of our school on August 30, at
