Kevin Carbonetti of OHS' counseling department has been named a Distinguished Counselor by the College Board's Recognition Program. He was nominated by Dr. Paul Guzzone, Associate Principal and Director of Counseling.
The program recognizes exemplary work on behalf of students and their families in guiding students on their path to college and career readiness.
Mr. Carbonetti has been a key player in organizing the Freshmen Orientation that takes place just before the start of school. In addition to orchestrating all of the moving parts that make the day a success, Mr. Carbonetti keeps tabs on his students to ensure that they find their way once school has started. As they move through their high school career, he guides them through the many programs the counseling department offers to prepare students for life beyond high school.
As a result of this recognition, Mr. Carbonetti will receive a complimentary trip to the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Annual Conference in Boston, Massachusetts in late June.
