Dear School 8 Families,
At our September Morning Meeting we introduced our theme for the next Morning Meeting. As a school we will celebrate the unique gifts and special qualities that we all contribute as a wondrous school community. Each classroom will read and explore We Are All Wonders by R J Palacio.
In order to make this theme come alive as a school we need your help. Your family is kindly invited to design a puzzle piece that represents YOU! Be as creative as you’d like including some of these ideas: More
Life Around Here
Fulton Avenue School #8 is a dynamic public school dedicated to providing a challenging and innovative educational experience for each child who enters our learning environment. “America’s Hope for the Future Passes Through Our Doors” is proudly displayed above our main entrance doorway. Every community member appreciates and believes this inscription which reminds us to stay focused on our collective mission. We promote exploration, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving skills within our teaching framework. At the heart of our educational program is the development of our core values, both intellectual and social. Through a strong character education curriculum we continue to develop an appreciation of diversity, a community of compassionate, responsible learners with a strong sense of spirit and fairness. As one former graduate and current CEO of the Walt Disney World Company shared, “What I’ve really learned over time is that optimism is a very, very important part of leadership. The riskiest thing we can do is just maintain the status quo.” -Bob Iger
As leaders and learners at School #8 our overall mission is to develop future leaders by questioning the status quo, supporting academic mastery and promoting healthy physical, social-emotional growth while building community.
